:: Where my nose? :: Hilang case ::
April 23, 2007
*sniffles* My nose ran away :( ... Gah = = Been having runny nose since yesterday... Can't blame it though ._. Body's been screaming "I need sleep, you stubborn girl!" these past few days. Ehh... don't look at me; blame the teachers for giving so much homework and assignments that made me feel lazy and hence procrastinate ._. Hmm? Doesn't sound right? Sounds perfectly fine to me, doood ._.
What happened today during Chemisty class gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Don't be afraid to try something new". We were conducting an experiment to study the reactivity of Group 1 elements of the Periodic Table.
Materials : Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, and water.
Apparatus : Basin, tweezers and eyes [ Preferably still attached to your head ._. ]
All the groups did Lithium and Potassium first and left the Sodium [ in cubes contained in a bottle ] for last because... well, both of the former ones were already precut :P You know a situation where everyone gathers around to spectate a happening? The class monitor was deciding whether to dump the whole Sodium cube into the water or to wait for teacher's further instructions, but clearly she was bias to the whole dump-it idea and carried it out anyway despite her friends' warnings. Off the cube went into the basin of water and fizzled vigorously it did. It all ended with KABOOM!... ._. Okay, just exaggerating. Anyway, it gave off some flares and a loud pop followed. Seriously, you should have seen the shock on everybody's face ._. And yep, it stinked. What happened next? I'll leave that to you :P Classic.
Ooh and teacher was explaining the reason the reactivity of alkali metals increases when going down Group 1.
The single valence electron in the outermost occupied shell becomes further away from the nucleus. Hence, the attraction between the nucelus and the valence electron becomes weaker. Therefore, it is easier for the atom to donate the single valence electron to achieve the stable electron arrangement of the atom of the noble gas.
._. ... Does that satisfy this 'equation'? : An angry man stabilizes when he gives you a piece of his mind... XD
Meh, mum's nagging - -

Seriously, some people think running a company is as easy as selling lemonade and cookies. I mean, what does a few extra bucks gonna do for the company? Why go through all the motherlode of hassle and effort for a business idea that's not even practical in the first place? Sheesh... Selling compilation of photos and videos captured during the prize giving day? Banning cameras on that day just so that parents can throw their money away to buy "beautiful" pictures and recordings from a bunch of kids they don't even know, when they have cameras of their own? Wake up, man. Do you think parents would listen to the school, let alone YOU? "Of course they will." Ch' yea right.
- Why should they buy from us, when they have their own cameras and video recorders?
- What IF the photos and videos that we've taken and sold do not satisfy them? As customers and patrons, they have every right to ask for compensations.
- What is there to see during a prize giving ceremony? A guy standing there, giving out prizes to the students, as if someone was on a 'rewind and play' buttons fit. There is simply no story. Not like a carnival or some sort.
- How much gross profit do you think we can earn, after deducting the overhead costs, CD writer maintenance, the CDs and all? What are we going to do with the extra CDs? FYI, it's extra expensive if you buy the CDs individually than in a bulk.
- They are there just to see their OWN kid. Why would they care about the rest of the kids there?
- The performances that are going to be performed can be found on anywhere on the internet, not to mention it's the SAME. OLD. DANCE that they did during the Independance Day and Teachers Day. Heck, the choreography is not even original. The original is more professional on top of that.
- *Would you buy that crap for 5 bucks? LoL.
Oh, here comes the juiciest part :
"... She didn't do her job as a marketing director. "
Spectacular. Just marvellous. Look who's talking. How do you expect me to advertise that thing if you don't at least give me a quotation, of the price itself?
"Well then, give me a price. "
"That, you have to ask our sales manager. "
"Fine. How much is it? "
"I don't know! She didn't tell me. "
Hmm...? How am I supposed to get a price if the BOTH of you don't know the price? It's not even my job. And you expected me to advertise today, with nothing - no price, no details of the production? Did you expect me to go up to customers like :
"Hello. I'm a representitive from this company. Are you interested in buying photos and videos of the prize giving ceremony tomorrow? They will be compiled in a CD for you. "
"That's great. How much is it? "
"I don't know. "
"Then, when can I get it? "
"I don't know neither. "
... You think they are psychics? They'd probably excuse it as some unprofessional kids pulling off some pranks. Speaking of being psychic, that's another problem with you. You think everyone should know what you want them to do, when you don't even as much as show that you care about telling them properly and specifically. You kept pushing all the explanations to others and when asked, you scream at people, saying that we should know what you expect us to do. All you do is point fingers, but heh, as we've always said : Everytime you do it, 4 fingers are pointing back at you.
Regarding this matter or project as you call it, majority voiced that they are not keen on doing this as it's not a good idea at all. But what?
"It's going to work. I've done this before. "
"When? "
"During the Chinese singing competition. "
"How much did you earn from doing that? "
"A few bucks. "
Like my friend said, "Why does she even bother asking for opinions and votes when she's adamant on doing it? It's a total waste of time. " Exactly.
Don't waste our time.
*A price I got from the Sales Manager after all those 'events'.
EDIT : Actually, two of them told me two different prices. Woot da hell? And now it's my fault that I received the wrong info? Don't look at me; I was just merely asking for the sake of telling. New species of human. LoL.
